The last time I went to the village, I taught the children an American game- duck, duck, goose. However, they don't really know what a duck or goose is. So I changed the name to "kuku, kuku, tembo". Which is "chicken, chicken, elephant" in Swahili. They figured it out pretty quickly and had a lot of fun. Afterwards, I taught them how to play "Sharks and Minnows". They didn't really understand that game, so we'll have to try again next time.

Dodging Potholes
We are officially in the middle of rainy season. And it downpours pretty much everyday. This causes extremely poor road conditions and flooding. So there's a new game we play while driving. It's a game I like to call "Dodge That Pothole". It's really quite a simple game. As you're driving, you swerve to miss the massive craters (potholes) in the road. Every good game has some risks. The riskiest part of this game is when oncoming traffic swerves at the same time as you, causing a near collision. Or when you swerve to the side of the road and almost hit an innocent pedestrian or bicyclist. This game definitely keeps you engaged while driving!
Worship Night
Last week we had a worship night at our house with the university students. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and worshipping the Lord. Some of the students shared testimonies and a message from God's Word. It was encouraging to see these students step into leadership roles, and to see how God is using them to build up the body of Christ.

Johannesburg, South Africa
My roommates and I recently went to Johannesburg for a retreat with other M's in our part of Africa. We had a great time, and felt like we were back in America again. We enjoyed eating food from McDonald's, KFC, and Cinnabon. And we were so impressed with the 4-way stops (that people actually stopped at), neighborhoods with yards, streets with sidewalks and curbs, and more importantly- really big malls! Charity had her baby in Johannesburg a few weeks ago, so we were able to finally see and hold little Zethan. He's precious! We spent most of our time at a place outside of the city called Warm Baths. We had lots of free time and were able to enjoy their waterpark, go-carts, and putt-putt. It was neat having fellowship with others on the mission field, and seeing how God is working in other areas of Africa.
